The ITAT Team provides application support to Franklin Templeton’s International Transfer Agency which is based in key locations around the world including Hong Kong, Singapore, India, Poland, Luxembourg and the United States. The group is primarily responsible for development of new features and providing production support and maintenance of an in-house TA application. The technology team members are spread across the globe with Poznan, Poland as one of the sites. The core TA system runs on a Linux/Oracle platform with WebSphere Application Server for hosting the user web interface. The ITAT Team is seeking an experienced technology professional who will be responsible for leading our technical team within production support and application management. This role is also responsible for service and product improvement and collaboration with cross-functional leadership to ensure day-to-day business needs are met. This role provides an opportunity to join a highly visible technology team responsible for critical elements of the Global Transfer Agency infrastructure and provides a great opportunity to be a key contributor and technology leader for a division of the organization with considerable growth potential. What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Associate Manager? Manage day-to-day activities for a team of Software Engineers: - Distribution of work - Assist in difficult problems - Manage escalation - Administrative support Operational Management: - Initiate or carry out department initiatives - Manage and build cross-departmental relationships - Talent acquisition and management Technical leadership: - Able to guide and lead team to solve difficult problems - Stewardship in hardware architecture design or build roadmap to reduce hardware footprint - Recommendation on toolkits and workflow to improve team’s productivity.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful? - Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems Management or a related discipline - Typically requires the equivalent of 2+ years of management experience either directly managing employees or acting as a senior team member and resource leader in a team management setting, and 7+ years in a development environment. - In-depth knowledge of various development methodologies - Demonstrated leadership skills in oversight of people and/or projects - Triage, root cause analysis and resolution of production issues. - Solid Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, web base technologies & framework on Linux O/S. - Proven record of influencing and executing technology strategy - Partnering and collaborating with co-workers at various levels and locations within an organization - Business operations experience in the financial industry is preferred
